Art Forum Azamino
(Yokohama Civic Gallery Azamino / the North Yokohama Central Institution for Gender Equality)
This is a public complex made up of an art
gallery and a forum for gender equality. The spacious vantage point
of the entrance hall stairwell, aptly named “STEP”,
commands a wide view of each floor. We aimed to create a public
facility which becomes more usable, friendly, and comfortable over
time by incorporating construction methods and materials suitable
for a long-life structure, designing an energy-saving internal environment
with a natural ventilation system, and implementing other strategies.
